Request a Coverage ReviewI’ve spent nearly three decades helping people understand how to protect their families, their businesses, and everything they’ve worked hard to build. Since beginning my career in insurance and financial services in 1997, I’ve learned that the best advice starts with listening.
My background includes life insurance, investment services, annuities, retirement planning, and leadership roles in financial services. I hold the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, which represents advanced education in life insurance and planning for families and businesses. I’ve also earned investment adviser and securities principal qualifications during my career.
That experience gives me a broad perspective on the decisions we make together. Your home, vehicles, income, savings, and family responsibilities are connected. I take the time to understand that bigger picture so our conversations go beyond quoting a policy.
As owner of Corwin Insurance Agency in Omaha, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that you understand the answers. Insurance can be complicated, and you shouldn’t have to figure it out alone. My job is to explain what your coverage does, where its limitations are, and what a serious claim could mean for you financially.
We’ll talk about the details that matter: rebuilding your home, protecting your income, choosing deductibles, and carrying enough liability coverage to help protect your future. Price is part of that conversation, but so is understanding what you’re getting for it.
Giving back to the community is a big part of my life. Special Olympics holds a special place in my heart—I’ve coached in the past and continue to be involved today. I’m also active with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Nebraska, Sheltering Tree, Adaptive Crossroads, and other local organizations. These connections matter to me because they’re about helping people find support, build confidence, and feel included.
As the father of an adult son with special needs, I understand how much dependable support and thoughtful planning mean to a family. That personal experience influences the way I approach both my work and my involvement in the community.
My goal is to be someone you can count on through the years—when you buy a home, grow your family, build a business, or simply want a second look at your coverage. I want to earn your trust through honest conversations, clear explanations, and follow-through.
At Corwin Insurance Agency, we believe protection begins with asking the right questions.

Agency Producer
Chris Miklas joined Corwin Insurance Agency in 2022, bringing with her a strong background in mortgage loan origination and processing. That experience sharpened her attention to detail, organization, and follow-through—skills she now puts to work every day for our clients.
Chris helps clients understand their coverage, navigate policy changes, and find answers to their insurance questions. She takes the time to explain the details clearly and make the insurance process feel a little less complicated.
As a wife, mother, grandmother of nine, and soon-to-be great-grandmother, Chris understands how busy life can get and how important it is to have someone dependable in your corner when you need help.
Chris also holds the office record for the most five-star Google reviews—a reflection of the personal attention, care, and service she gives our clients. I’m proud to have her on our team and grateful for the relationships she continues to build with the people we serve.
Agency Producer
Martha Brensel—known around our office as MJ—is a mom to three amazing sons, so she knows a thing or two about staying busy.
Before joining our agency, she spent years in emergency management and as a 911 operator. Staying calm under pressure, paying attention to details, and helping people through stressful situations were part of her everyday work. Those skills serve her—and our clients—well in insurance.
MJ came in ready to go from day one. Before she officially started, she was already studying for her life insurance license—something we don’t typically have new team members tackle right away. That initiative says a lot about her work ethic and commitment to learning.
She’s one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever hired, and I’m excited to have her on our team.
She’s already helping clients understand their coverage, explore options that fit their needs, and feel comfortable knowing they have someone to turn to when questions come up.
Chief Barketing Officer
Sherman is our 160-pound Cane Corso and Chief Barketing Officer. His illustrious insurance career includes greeting visitors, supervising snack breaks, and making sure no suspicious delivery goes unnoticed.
He specializes in paw-sonal service, treat-based compensation, and protecting the office from uncovered lunch leftovers. His approach to risk management is simple: investigate first, sniff twice, and never let a good belly rub go to waste.
He leaves the insurance advice to our licensed team—but when it comes to loyalty, Sherman offers unlimited coverage.
